FTR were known as The Revival in WWE, but they left Vince McMahon’s company thanks to Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson receiving their releases. The two became Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler and soon ended up in AEW, but a recent report stated that WWE is interested in their return.

Ringside News asked around about this report and we were told that WWE isn’t as interested as previously reported. In fact, a tenured member of the backstage team told us that “there is no interest in bringing back FTR.”

We were told that Dax and Cash “tried to float interest in returning through Edge,” but there was none. Remember when Edge namedropped FTR during WWE programming few months ago?

WWE has no real interest in bringing back the former tag team champions. There are also some in the company who don’t have the best memories of The Top Guys.

They are seen as mid-carders who just complain, both internally and to the media, and they’re not seen as appealing to a worldwide audience past the hardcores who are too busy giving star ratings for matches.

We were additionally told that “Cash was the worst” of the two when it came to complaining. There were also confrontations with members of the creative team over their direction on WWE television.

FTR are doing quite well for themselves as a top team in AEW. They are covered in gold as well, but only time will tell if and when they get the AEW World Tag Team Titles again. Don’t put too much money on them becoming tag team champions in WWE again any time soon.
