The main event of this past week’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw Samoa Joe challenge Minoru Suzuki for the ROH TV Championship. In the end, Samoa Joe defeated Suzuki for the title as well.

Following the conclusion of the match, former basketball player Satnam Singh made his debut and attacked Samoa Joe. He appeared alongside Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal.

The debut ended up receiving mixed opinions from fans and peers alike. While speaking on Busted Open, Bully Ray criticized Satnam Singh’s debut, comparing it to the infamous Katie Vick storyline in WWE.

“I hated the ending of Dynamite, despised, hated. I thought it was a ‘Katie Vick moment’. Katie Vick moment being: we’ve just seen an excellent match and then all-of-a-sudden fans were forced to see this storyline, which they did not want to see and just wound up turning their back on. I didn’t agree with the lights out/lights on, I don’t agree with Satnam Singh coming out after that match – that should’ve been Joe’s moment to shine.”

Tony Khan also addressed criticism of Satnam Sign’s debut as well recently. We’ll have to see how Satnam Singh will be booked in the coming weeks.
