Kevin Owens wrestled Cody Rhodes in a post-Raw dark match that saw Cody pick up the victory to send the fans home happy. It was a fitting end to a wild few days for Rhodes. Cody made his surprise debut at WrestleMania 38 where he defeated Seth Rollins.

During the match, Kevin Owens taunted Cody Rhodes with a very specific pose. Owens did the Young Buck’s signature pose as Cody was laying on the ring. The Young Bucks responded by giving Owens a shoutout on their Twitter bio. Freelance photographer @kimberlasskick, a freelance photographer who shows up at virtually every pro wrestling event, captured the moment.

Kevin Owens has a long association with the Young Bucks. Cody served with them and Kenny Omega as EVPs from the inception of AEW until Rhodes left the company. The Bucks frequently use their Twitter bio to communicate with fans as opposed to posting tweets.

“Whaddup Kev”

Many thought that Kevin Owens would join Cody and the Bucks in AEW after his WWE contract expired. Instead, KO signed a lucrative deal with WWE. It paid off, as Owens had a massive WrestleMania moment when he took on “Stone Cold” Steve Austin in a no holds barred match at the show of shows.

Cody made frequent references to WWE during his time in AEW, as have several other wrestlers. Owens was likely mocking this. The segment was not televised, so there was no real harm done.
