Cody Rhodes helped out AEW in numerous ways, as he was one of the biggest names in the company during its initial stages. He helped put over numerous talent during his time in the company. Rhodes also opened up about his AEW departure.

Rhodes and his wife Brandi ended up parting ways with AEW back in February. For a long time after that, fans simply wondered where Cody Rhodes would end up now.

Fans had their answer as Cody Rhodes made his triumphant return at WrestleMania 38. He defeated Seth Rollins as he looked like million bucks. While speaking with Variety, Cody Rhodes laid many rumors to rest about his AEW departure. Rhodes said that he did not leave AEW or money or creative differences at all.

”I chose to remain silent about my departure from AEW and I’m going to keep my word on that. There’s no shoot interview. There’s no nefarious tale that’s going to be told. There were all these different theories and none of them are correct. I mean, there were things about money and creative control. They were printed as fact and it’s been a very difficult two months to see that, when the reality is it was just time. It was a personal matter and we couldn’t move past it.”

Now that Cody Rhodes is back in WWE after 6 years, we will have to wait and see how he will be booked in the coming months. Fans are certainly excited for his future in WWE.
