Sasha Banks was pivotal in changing the perception of women’s wrestling in the United States. During the Divas era and before, WWE treated female competitors as afterthoughts or objects of sexual desire. Banks and her then NXT compatriots came together to show fans that things didn’t have to be that way.

In a recent interview with The Athletic, Banks talked about how proud she was of what she helped women’s wrestling become. Sasha said she always wants to be the main event. There are also some even bigger ambitions she’s working on.

“This universe keeps giving me so much more. It’s so cool that my hard work since I was a kid is paying off. Women’s wrestling, something I wanted forever, it’s being taken seriously. I think I can in such a different way, I see The Rock as maybe the biggest global superstar, and John Cena is coming right behind him. It would be cool to see a woman step into that level. I think with Sasha Banks and Mercedes Varnado right there, I think the stars are aligned for me.”

Sasha Banks doesn’t just want to be one of the biggest superstars in WWE. She believes she can become a global superstar like The Rock and John Cena. Banks is off to a great start, earning rave reviews for her role in The Mandalorian. There could be even bigger things in the future for the charismatic star.
