NXT 2.0 made its debut in September last year and it promised an entirely new outlook on the product. While it did bring about quite a few changes, not everything hit the mark in the way fans wanted. The Undertaker also has a high opinion of the current version of NXT.

With a fresh look and coat of paint, came a new sense of direction which has seen a new set of WWE Superstars, especially the likes of Bron Breakker. In spite of that, fans continue to feel the product is lacking in many ways.

The show’s new direction is largely to do with building new stars. While speaking during a media call at NASCAR EchoPark Automotive Texas Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas, The Undertaker talked about NXT 2.0 and its current stars. The Deadman stated that he believes NXT 2.0 is a great vehicle to jumpstart careers.

“Each generation, they continue to push the limits of what the human body is able to do. They push the athletic side as they are learning the more psychological side of it and the way to evoke emotion, which is a huge part of what we do. There is the athletic side, but you have to be able to make people love you or hate you. They’re going to pay money to see you either win or lose. That’s probably the hardest aspect of our industry. Athletes are athletes. What separates whether you’re a sports entertainer or star is that ability to connect with your audience. NXT is a great vehicle to get these guys jumpstarted. They are continuing to push the envelope of what they can do athletically and physically. It’s quite amazing. It’s a video game in real life.”

NXT 2.0 will also bring in more main roster stars for the development of the product. We’ll have to wait and see whether the overall show will see much improvement in the coming months.
