WWE Monday Night Raw could’ve looked lot different this week. The company is trying to put its best foot forward as WrestleMania draws closer. This week’s show underwent major changes in the hours leading up to showtime as Vince McMahon hoped to tweak and perfect the episode.

Damian Priest and Shelton Benjamin was a last-minute addition to the format. It was added to help build to the upcoming US title match between Priest and Finn Balor. The script was subject to change right up until the show went on the air.

Mike Johnson of PW Insider noted that there was lot of reshuffling going on backstage. It’s not uncommon for WWE to make these kinds of last-minute changes. It has long been reported that entire formats can get thrown out and reworked if the boss isn’t happy.

The Brock Lesnar segment with Paul Heyman that opened Raw went on as planned. The main event between RK-Bro and Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins was also booked. Owens and Rollins won to earn their way into a triple threat for the Raw tag titles on March 7.

WWE decided to make some changes to add a little more shine to the US Championship program. AJ Styles is hoping to take on Edge at WrestleMania. A lot could be determined by the results of the US title match.
