Jake “The Snake” Roberts became a fan favorite for his incredible ring psychology and memorable promos. Roberts is so respected in the wrestling business that he is still working with AEW to this day. Jake is getting older and has lived fast life. Many fans have expressed concern about his health.

Roberts has been seen on TV several times with an oxygen tank. Years of smoking and hard living have taken their toll on the legendary wrestler. Jake has been doing a little better, as he didn’t have an oxygen tank during his most recent AEW appearance.

Jake provided an update on his health on the latest DDP Snake Pit podcast. The WWE Hall of Famer said that bad genetics combined with lifestyle has created some problems. Regular doctor visits are the order of the day, but things have improved.

“Genetics being what they are, my mother had two lung diseases that she passed on to me. There’s no cure for either one of them. The last thing I should ever do is smoke a cigarette, and yet I’ve been smoking since I was 17, to the point that I have COPD and a little emphysema tossed in.

Now I have to see a specialist. I have to keep my eyes on it. During the pandemic, it was a real scare for me because if I got COVID, I probably wouldn’t have made it. I was really terrified. I was one of the first to get the damn shots because I have to protect my ass. Today, I feel great. I don’t have to use any oxygen at all. I do have to use it on the airplanes when they pressurize and go up high, but it’s something that can be dealt with. I can still live a great life.”

It is great to learn that Jake Roberts is doing better. Jake says he is feeling great and taking much better care of himself. Hopefully, Roberts can continue to improve and increase his quality of life.
