Ringside News exclusively reported that Shane McMahon was quietly let go by the WWE following a disastrous power trip at the Royal Rumble PPV event two weeks ago. Since then rumors about AEW have run rampant within the fan base, inspiring loads of memes in the process.

Many fans want the elder McMahon child to walk through the proverbial Forbidden Door and get to rival AEW. After all, nothing is impossible in the wrestling world these days.

AEW President Tony Khan is down to a conversation if it ever happens with Shane. The 39-year-old is all about listening to the fans and has brought many former WWE performer into AEW’s fold.

Khan recently sat down with Sports Illustrated to share his two cents on the speculations surrounding Shane McMahon and AEW. He told the outlet has hasn’t heard from Shane, which isn’t a surprise.

“I’d certainly take the call. I’m sure he’d be an interesting person to talk to about wrestling. I’m not sure exactly if he would be a fit. I have not heard from him, and I don’t expect to hear from him, but in this business, you never know.”

Khan once again opened the Forbidden Door this past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite to make way for former WWE stars Keith Lee and AQA, as well as NJPW sensation Jay White, to appear on his show.
