This year’s edition of the Royal Rumble had a lot of expectations from fans as they simply wanted the event to live up to the hype. Unfortunately, the event did not deliver where it mattered most for fans. It seems even WWE is aware of this as well.

The Men’s Royal Rumble match had a lot of promise for many fans but it ultimately ended up disappointing everyone as it lacked any true surprise entrants. It only featured the likes of Bad Bunny, Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre in the end

Even Booker T criticized the match for its lack of organic surprises. Brock Lesnar winning the match was also seen as a controversial decision. According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, WWE is well aware of the fact the Royal Rumble was not up to the mark and will make sure to do it better next year.

”You’ll be pleased to know I’m not the only one who thought the Men’s Royal Rumble was boring. They’re well aware the Men’s Rumble was boring and their plan is to make sure next year it’s not boring.”
