AJ Styles had one of, if not, the greatest debuts in professional wrestling. Styles shocked the world when he appeared as entrant number three at the 2016 rumble event in Orlando, Florida.

Styles is speaking up about another huge name that might appear as a surprise entrant at the 2022 Royal Rumble tomorrow (Saturday). That person is none other than Cody Rhodes.

Rhodes recently confirmed he’s working with AEW without a contract, but Styles has questioned Rhodes status with Tony Khan’s promotion. The former WWE Champion would like to see Rhodes at the rumble event, saying, “Of course. Who wouldn’t?”

“Well, I think I read it on your website that he said he wasn’t coming back,” Styles told Wrestling Inc during a recent interview. He continued, “I don’t know about that. Cody, I am going to call you out man, I don’t know about that one. Because, you’re able to do independents while working for AEW, right? So what’s the difference?”

Rhodes confirming his current status with AEW has certainly added fuel to the speculation regarding a possible appearance at the Royal Rumble. We’ll have to wait till tomorrow to find out.
