Randy Orton has enjoyed a long run of popularity as one of the top superstars in WWE. Orton has reinvented himself throughout his career. Orton is currently enjoying renewed popularity as a member of RKBro with Matt Riddle. The Viper seems to be completely untouchable.

That doesn’t mean Randy hasn’t experienced some issues. WWE experienced major COVID outbreak in the lead up to the Day 1 premium live event. Even the main event had to be changed. Orton was not among those who tested positive.

That could be because Randy Orton had COVID-19 way back in June of 2021. Randy talked about his diagnosis in a recent appearance on The Ringer Wrestling Show. Orton missed seven weeks of televisionand lost a lot of weight.

“In June, I got COVID. I missed seven weeks of TV because my blood inflammation levels were so high that they were worried… I lost 20 pounds during Covid. I had it so bad. I was stick skinny, stick thin. I had a chance to rebuild. I’m either going to do it this way or I’m going to do it that way.

I cut the alcohol. I cut the sugar. I started training a little harder. I started seeing another physical therapist for some issues with my shoulder and my back because we’re always staying up on those injuries. Here we are six months later, and I think I’m feeling the best that I’ve felt physically since I can remember to be honest with you.”

Randy Orton was fortunate enough to make a full recovery. The Viper is looking great as RKBro continues their feud with Alpha Academy. Both Matt Riddle and Randy are headed to the WWE Royal Rumble. Time will tell if either man will be going to WrestleMania as a singles competitor.
