Mustafa Ali’s WWE Release Request Situation Compared To Brodie Lee

Mustafa Ali has started a movement online. Ali asked WWE for his release after he clashed backstage with Vince McMahon over creative differences. Mustafa was denied his release. Since then, he has launched social media campaign to attempt to #FreeAli.

Fans really backed Mustafa Ali’s efforts in a huge way. Even some WWE wrestlers including Sasha Banks appear to have expressed support. WWE is now facing an interesting decision when it comes to how to treat the situation.

Amanda Huber recently compared Mustafa Ali’s predicament to her late husband, Brodie Lee. Brodie was ready to leave WWE but was denied his release. Huber sent out a tweet in support of Ali’s attempt to leave the company.

Brodie Lee requested his WWE release in 2019. Eventually, that request was granted. Brodie was finally allowed to leave year later. The former Luke Harper signed with AEW and became the leader of the Dark Order. Sadly, he passed away shortly after making himself a major star in Tony Khan’s promotion.
