WWE released Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay from their contracts, but they didn’t let that stop them at all. They are both still on fire on social media and also Impact Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Champions. They will not be at the Royal Rumble.

Mickie James will join the Royal Rumble as Knockouts Champion, but the tag team champions won’t be around. That wasn’t WWE’s fault, because they apparently offered.

According to Fightful Select, WWE offered McKay and Lee spots in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble. They declined the invitation.

The IInspiration, formerly known as WWE Tag Team Champions The IIconics were offered a spot in the Rumble match, but Fightful sources indicate that they turned down the offer.

It’s unknown exactly why they rejected the offer, but they won’t be showing up in St. Louis. We’ll have to see if either of them ever make a WWE return, but it won’t happen at the Royal Rumble this year.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
