Serena Deeb gave Hikaru Shida the beating of a lifetime on last week’s AEW Dynamite. Deeb attacked Shida before the bell, wailing on the Japanese star with a kendo stick. The referee eventually stopped the match after Shida sold a knee injury.

The real reason for the angle was because Shida was heading back to her native Japan for a while. The injury was used as a way to write her off of television. Some of the whacks she took were pretty legitimate, though.

Hikaru Shida shared a look at the contusions and bruises she suffered during Deeb’s beatdown. Shida’s knee was black and blue and visibly swolen. She had a huge bruise on her left upper leg.

Serena Deeb got the better of Hikaru Shida for now. Shida will rest and recover as she travels home. Serena will be stalking out her next victim.

AEW has taken plenty of heat in the past for their women’s division. Kenny Omega recently put over the Deeb vs Shida feud as one to keep an eye on. For now, it appears to be over.

Serena Deeb and Hikaru Shida had a hard-hitting, physical series of matches. The bruises from this one look very real. Hopefully Shida recovers quickly from those stiff cane shots.
