Nikki Bella had one overriding mantra during her run with WWE. Nikki wanted everyone to know she is fearless. Bella has undergone spinal fusion surgery on her neck and previously announced that a return to wrestling was unlikely. For at least one night, Nikki has overcome the odds and will once again wrestle in a WWE ring.

Last night it was announced that Nikki will compete in this year’s WWE women’s Royal Rumble match. The news came as a shock to some who didn’t think Nikki Bella would ever wrestle again. Dr. Juan Santiago Uribe was not among those who were surprised. The neurosurgeon reacted to the news of Nikki’s return on Instagram.

“Everyone will see you fighting on TV, but I’ve seen you fighting (and winning!) to get back in that ring. Thanks for your loyalty and support”

Nikki Bella was a member of the WWE roster from 2007 when she entered the Florida Championship Wrestling developmental program along with her sister Brie until her retirement in June of 2019 after a cyst was discovered on her brain. The Bella Twins were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020.

Nikki was a two-time WWE Diva’s Champion during her run. The Bellas became famous for “twin magic” where they would swap out in the middle of a match to gain an unfair advantage. They eventually became mainstream celebrities due to the success of Total Divas.

Several former WWE superstars are making comebacks for this year’s women’s Royal Rumble. Even Impact Knockouts Champion Mickie James is scheduled to wrestle in the match. Nikki Bella is hoping to be more than just another face in the Rumble crowd.
