William Regal served a viral role to help make NXT what it became before Vince McMahon stepped in and made it NXT 2.0. Now Sr. William Regal is no longer with the company.

WWE made the call to execute another run of releases today, one day after New Year’s Evil. This time those cuts were focused on the NXT brand. The firings included some tough cuts including Road Dogg.

Sean Sapp tweeted out to report that William Regal was part of those cuts today. WWE has since confirmed this news.

WWE made a lot of changes to the NXT brand and losing William Regal is a big deal for the brand. He was a scout and served other backstage responsibilities. We will continue monitoring this ongoing situation here at Ringside News.
