Drew McIntyre remains one of the top Superstars in WWE and certainly has a lot of passion for the pro wrestling business. He is a former two-time WWE Champion and was the face of the company during the pandemic era as the WWE Champion. He is also never afraid to give advice to his peers whenever needed. That status as a locker room leader can also come with a lot of problems, like working through an injury.

Drew McIntyre was written off WWE television after getting brutally assaulted at hands of Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss at the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view. They Pillmanized his neck and then WWE confirmed his injury.

The company then announced McIntyre suffered injuries, but the actual injuries were not disclosed at the time. As reported earlier, Drew McIntyre is out of action with neck injury.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Drew McIntyre had pre-existing neck problems for quite a while. His high work rate might have also attributed to it as well.

‘The Drew thing, I guess he’s been bothered by neck problems, which is saying something because he worked two matches every night last week. He was working a tag title match against The Usos and a street fight against Sheamus on every show and he was also the Workhorse of WWE this year. He had more matches in 2021 than anyone.”

It was also noted that McIntyre worked the most matches for WWE in 2021. Even though McIntyre worked less than 100 in 2021, WWE’s workhorse usually suffers some sort of injury the next year.

The severity of Drew McIntyre’s neck issues is not yet known and a timetable for his return was also not given. We will have to wait and see when The Scottish Warrior will make his return to WWE television.
