WWE changed a lot of things about their presentation through the years. They have also updated the lingo that they use. It seems that pay-per-view events are a thing of the past in 2022.

WWE started referring to WWE Day 1 as a “premium live event” all night. This term has replaced the previous pay-per-view verbiage.

The company no longer relies on traditional pay-per-view buys as they once did. Now that their events are streaming on Peacock the wording has been officially changed. This is an interesting change, but it seems that premium live event is the new hot word that Vince McMahon wants them to use.
