WWE Day 1 is upon us, but the company had to change up the biggest match on the card. Hours before the show was set to start, WWE has confirmed that Roman Reigns has COVID-19.
Ringside News exclusively reported that WWE will wait until the day of the show to make any changes to Day 1. That is exactly what they are doing, but little did we realize that the main event was in such jeopardy.
It was thought that Roman Reigns was pulled from the road as a precautionary measure. The company made the announcement that the Head of the Table was stricken by the virus. Now Brock Lesnar is in the fatal four-way match for the WWE Title, making it a fatal five-way instead.
BREAKING: @BrockLesnar to challenge for WWE Championship tonight in Fatal 5-Way Match at #WWEDay1 following @WWERomanReigns testing positive for COVID-19.
We’re sending out our best for Roman Reigns. This is a concerning situation, because he is immunocompromised due to his history with leukemia. He also missed a great deal of time during the start of the pandemic to stay isolated. Hopefully, Roman Reigns can get through this situation and come back stronger than ever, but he will miss WWE Day 1.
