Jake Hager made his AEW debut back in October 2019 on the inaugural episode of AEW Dynamite. It was the same night when the Inner Circle was formed. Hager recently discussed about some original plans regarding the Inner Circle.

The Inner Circle included Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Santana, Ortiz and Hager himself. Hager recently made guest appearance on the AEW Unrestricted podcast where he spoke about the formation of the stable.

Hager revealed that he wasn’t originally intended for group. Gallows and Anderson were possibly planned for the Inner Circle. As they went out of the picture, Hager got the opportunity.

“I think what happened was, Gallows and Anderson possibly were going to be in The Inner Circle, but they re-signed. So, I got bumped up or I came into the picture, however you want to phrase it. Chris told Tony he wanted me for the job and the rest is history.”

Tony made a couple of phone calls with Hager and then he got to be Elite. He is immensely proud that he got to be part of the groundwork and the beginning team of AEW.
