Ring of Honor’s final pay-per-view for the foreseeable future is Saturday night. The company unexpectedly closed up shop and released all of their talent in late October of 2021. They plan to shut down and reorganize, hopefully returning in 2022.

With the historic show taking place without the ROH World Champion, Bandido, things were looking tense for the promotion. Now, AEW President Tony Khan says he will lend ROH helping hand. He talked about his reasons for helping out on the latest Busted Open Radio when he was asked about his thoughts on ROH.

“Absolutely. I do want to wish those folks with Ring of Honor the best. I’ll be doing some things to support them in this last show to make it a good show for them. [Working partnerships] is what AEW is all about [inaudible], so I am wishing them the best tomorrow and tonight, I think you’re going to see some of the best wrestling that you’re ever going to get on a Friday night.

We’ve packed so much great stuff into one hour on Rampage, and then we’ll be really focused ahead towards Winter Is Coming, but yeah, over the weekend I am going to lend some support to them and try and help them out because it’s the right thing to do.”

Khan didn’t elaborate on if he meant he would send talent, financial support, or production support for the ROH PPV. With their World Champion out with COVID-19, the promotion could use all the help and hype they can get. Khan’s revelation will surely have fans buzzing.

A huge portion of the AEW roster spent the formative years of their pro wrestling careers in Ring of Honor. Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, Bobby Fish, Jay Lethal, Matt Hardy, and many others cut their teeth in the company. Fans will have to wait until Friday night to see if any of them make a surprise appearance at ROH Final Battle.

Do you think Tony Khan will send any talent to the ROH PPV? Let us know in the comments!
