Jeff Hardy is a true veteran in the pro wrestling world, having worked in the business for well over two decades now. He was one of the mainstays of WWE television since returning to the company back in 2017. It seems a major issue might prevent him from signing with AEW.

Unfortunately, he was recently released from WWE. To add to that, Jeff Hardy even turned down rehab prior to his firing. News of his release has truly shocked the pro wrestling world to its core and many people reacted to it.

As Ringside News exclusively reported, Hardy’s issues were not a problem backstage in WWE. Despite that, Jeff Hardy did refuse to get help for his addiction problems when WWE offered him help.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW might hesitate in signing Jeff Hardy because of Hardy’s refusal to get help for his personal problems. For AEW, that is something that they can’t tolerate under any circumstances.

“Given his name value, one would think most companies would have interest in him, but for AEW, there has to be a question regarding signing him due to the nature of refusing rehab. A revitalized Hardy Brothers, something nobody expected to happen again given that Jeff had signed a new long-term deal with WWE, in that tag team picture would be hard to turn down. It would have to be on a zero-tolerance deal.

Matt Hardy showed huge support to his brother after his release from WWE. Matt was also hopefully about teaming up with Jeff again in the future. While it might become a reality in the future, it won’t be before Jeff gets the help he really needs.
