Jeff Hardy was released from WWE today and that was shocking moment for fans. This came after he walked off in the middle of a match during a house show. He was wrestling in a tag team match against the Bloodline and that might have been Hardy’s destination on the blue brand as well.

Ringside News asked around about report saying that Hardy turned down an offer for rehab prior to his release. We were told by a tenured member of the creative team that the “report is the same I heard internally.”

Jeff Hardy was not a problem backstage. We were explicitly told that “Jeff was not an issue.” WWE also noticed what kind of reactions Jeff Hardy received and he was being considered for a much larger role.

Jeff was not an issue. In fact, there was talk amongst the writers that Roman and Heyman were on board with working a match with Jeff at either the Rumble or Saudi.

Jeff Hardy planted seeds for an eventual match against Roman Reigns. Sadly, that match will not happen now.

We’re wishing Jeff Hardy the best as he starts a new chapter in his career. If anything, fans might just see a Hardy Boys reunion in Tony Khan’s company much sooner than anyone would have guessed.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
