MJF is considered as one of the best heels in the modern-day pro wrestling world and there is a very good reason for that. He quickly cemented himself as top star and remains one of the highlights of AEW television since the debut of AEW back in 2019.

The Salt of the Earth is dedicated to his character as he never breaks kayfabe, inside or outside the squared circle. His dedication to his credit has won him over with fans who simply love to hate him.

As seen on last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, CM Punk and MJF engaged in a war of words that saw CM Punk referencing the likes of The Miz and Triple H and others. It received a lot of praise from fans and pro wrestlers alike.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, MJF talked about his promo battle with CM Punk. MJF possibly broke character as he stated that the battle between the two was truly special.

“Look, I’d be lying if I said it didn’t feel special. I think one of the reasons that we had over a million viewers watching our segment when we had the greatest verbal joust in the history of this sport is because it is special. It’s something that people have been calling for for a very long time. CM Punk was considered to be the greatest guy on the stick of his generation and I’m considered to be the greatest guy on the stick of mine. That’s exactly what it was, it was special.”

Bully Ray also believes that MJF could verbally eviscerate CM Punk. We will have to wait and see how AEW will book CM Punk and MJF’s feud in the coming weeks as it continues to intensify every week.
