Jim Ross is a veteran in the pro wrestling world, as he made a name for himself as a commentator in WWE. He has delivered some of the most iconic moments in the history of pro wrestling. It seems he also believes WWE turned him heel in order to get him to leave.

Ross worked in WWE for several years, which is why he knows the inner workings of the company. He has extensively worked with Vince McMahon and it has not always worked out in his favor as he has been the subject of ridicule numerous times.

During his 22-year tenure with WWE, Jim Ross was largely a face for his run but during some instances, he was also a heel. While speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross talked about his heel turns in WWE. Ross stated that he didn’t understand why he was a heel in the first place and believed WWE did it so that he would leave.

“I never understood that. The obsession with wanting JR to be a villain. I simply do not know, maybe if they thought I was a villain, if I was miserable, I would leave. I just have no idea. However, nothing really ran me off and nothing put me down to stay down and I never understood the motivation for that,”

Jim Ross is expected to miss around a month of work in AEW as he is currently battling skin cancer by undergoing radiation. We hope Ross manages to defeat the disease and make a triumphant return to the AEW commentary team.
