Cody Rhodes is the EVP of AEW and has remained a babyface in the company since the very beginning. Rhodes is one of the top stars in the company, as he has competed in several memorable matches and praise-worthy segments over the years. Despite all this, Rhodes continues to get polarizing reactions no matter what he does.

For the past few months, Cody Rhodes has been on the receiving end of a lot of boos from fans. Due to this, many have expressed their desire to have Cody Rhodes turn heel.

As reported earlier, fans in attendance during the main event of last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite said the r-word to Cody Rhodes on numerous occasions. That wasn’t all as a fan even threw back the weight belt Cody Rhodes threw to the crowd, as he usually does in a match.

While speaking on the Keepin It 100 podcast, Konnan talked about Cody Rhodes being rejected by the fans during last week’s AEW Dynamite. Konan criticized Rhodes for throwing the belt to the fans again after they threw it back to him the first time.

”You know how Cody Rhodes’ opening is really long and drawn out. The fans booed that whole thing. I was like, holy s***, at least show the guy. They were letting him and the company f*** this. It is honestly a strong message they are sending. They open up the thing, he comes out, and they boo the f*** out of him. He smiles like, I think he believes he can charm the fans back into liking him.

He is not Dusty. Then the biggest sign of disrespect like in sports when you throw the baseball bat, you know he threw his belt out there, a babyface, and they threw the belt back into the place and he put it back on. I was like, what are you doing? Why are you reminding people? That belt has heat.”

Brandi Rhodes also reacted to the fans throwing his belt back to him. Cody Rhodes also teased fans with heel turn after this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. We will have to wait and see what will become of Cody Rhodes in the coming weeks.
