Xavier Woods Learned About WWE Releases Live On G4TV

Xavier Woods was a part of the re-launch event for the revived geek television network G4. During a break in the celebration, woods frantically picked up his phone and ran off set. An eagle-eyed fan shared the moment on social media.

On Twitter, @scarson_ posted a clip he pulled from the stream. Woods looks visibly upset. He frantically scrambles from the set. The moment he heard the news about so many of his coworkers losing their jobs aired live on YouTube.

King Xavier is a true professional, though. After he took some time to process the news, he returned to the set. He was his usual upbeat self for the remainder of the stream.

News broke in the early evening of November 18 that several more WWE superstars had been given pink slips. The releases included several names who were actively appearing on television. Drake Maverick, Hit Row, John Morrison, Tegan Nox, Shane Thorne, and Jaxson Ryker were all released by the company.

As Xavier Woods continues to push for fare wage for his contribution to UpUpDownDown, he finds himself having the most successful singles run of his career. After winning King of the Ring, he has been featured in several high-profile moments for WWE.

Woods was sharing co-hosting duties for the revival of Attack of the Show when the news came across his phone. No doubt he was shaken by what he was reading in his text messages. It appears nobody is safe in WWE at the moment.
