Samuray Del Sol made his surprise AEW debut in a AAA Tag Team title match with FTR last night. After the show, he posted a tweet thanking the late Brodie Lee for giving him energy during his big match. Unfortunately, he spelled Brodie’s real name (Jon Huber) wrong.

Chris Jericho responded minutes later, noting that Samuray had misspelled “Jon” as “John.” Huber’s wife Amanda also piled on. She said the misspelling was disrespectful.

“Why is that? I feel like it’s reasonable to expect a level of respect of spelling someone’s name right if you want to name drop them.”

What seemed like an innocent mistake was starting to escalate. Clearly, Samuray Del Sol had his heart in the right place and was paying tribute to a former coworker that he deeply respected. The former Kalisto kept his cool in his response.

“My emotions got the best of me carnal”

Jericho and Amanda Huber are obviously entitled to their own opinion. Brodie was her husband, after all. The harsh response may have been as emotional as the initial misspelling.

Hopefully they can quickly patch this up and get along. If Samuray Del Sol is going to spend any amount of time in AEW, he’s going to have to get along with both Jericho and Amanda. Huber serves as a Community Outreach Ambassador for the promotion. Jericho is obviously a key member of their in-ring roster.

Do you think Jericho and Huber overreacted to the misspelling by Samuray Del Sol? Let us know in the comments!
