Io Shirai left fans concerned after brutal incident during the Scareway to Hell Ladder Match on NXT’s Halloween Havoc. Towards the end of the match, Shirai crashed into a ladder bridge outside the ring, neck first. Needless to say, that was a scary spot to take.
The crash occurred after Indy Hartwell tipped the ladder inside the ring. The collision appeared so gruesome that even Hartwell herself appeared momentarily concerned. Shirai later took to Twitter to reassure fans.
I am not dead. I will always keep getting up to do my best. Just sad that the title is not on my waist…
Io also tweeted out to let everyone know that she hates Indi Hartwell. It’s understandable that she might feel a certain type of way after that spot.
The match was won by Toxic Attraction’s Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne, who consequently captured the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship. Shirai seems disappointed, but also relieved to be alright.
