WWE released quite a few Superstars and members of staff since April of this year. The company previously released 14 Superstars from NXT and 205 Live and that included one of the mainstays of 205 Live, Tony Nese. Nese already commented on his release, stating that he can’t wait to work elsewhere. It appears that fans won’t have to wait long for that to happen.

Tony Nese made his first appearance on AEW television during last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Fans were certainly glad to see Nese in the company and now it seems Nese has become a permanent addition.

The AEW commentary team also referred to Tony Nese as “one of the hottest free agents in pro-wrestling.” It was not confirmed whether Tony Nese signed with the company or not.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Tony Nese has signed a contract with AEW already. Meltzer added that AEW hasn’t announced his signing just yet as they are planning something.

“On the show on Saturday, Dynamite, they showed Nese in the stands, so obviously he had signed, but they won’t announce it because probably they’re doing something. He did the Dark tapings yesterday in Orlando, and he wrestled, I think he wrestled more than one match. Yeah, he’s signed, so that’s the deal.”

Nese has already made his in-ring debut during the latest AEW Dark tapings. On top of that, he even hinted at squaring off against Adam Cole. Due to Khan having a penchant for giving fans what they want, a match between the two is certainly a possibility.
