Tony Nese was released from WWE on June 25th, 2021 when the company gutted the 205 Live roster. He hasn’t appeared on television since then, but he broke that trend on AEW Dynamite tonight.

Bryan Danielson and Dustin Rhodes kicked off AEW Saturday Night Dynamite this week. During the match, the camera shot to someone familar sitting at ringside. Tony Nese was shown wearing a blue button-up shirt and a necktie.

Tony Nese is a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion and he was a big part of 205 Live prior to his release. Someone like Tony Nese could fit in very well in AEW if Tony Khan decides to bring him in.

We’ll have to see what happens in this situation, but the fact that Tony Nese is in the building for Dynamite doesn’t hurt his chances at ending up in AEW as many fans hoped he would.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
