Alberto Del Rio has had a crazy life since leaving WWE. The former champion was charged with kidnapping and assault in 2020. His personal life has also been rife with rumors.

More recently, the wrestler currently known as Alberto el Patron is involved in a lawsuit against an MMA promotion. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson recently offered an update on the situation.

Alberto alleges that Combate Global, LLC owes him $250,000 for an MMA bout against Tito Ortiz for the promotion.

“The Agreement stated that compensation for Plaintiff Jose Alberto Rodriguez Chucuan, Inc. was for two-hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000.00) for the first year, to be paid monthly ($20,833.34 per month). If Mr. Rodriguez appeared as an on-camera, ringside commentator for televised or pay-per-view events, then Plaintiff Jose Alberto Rodriguez Chucuan, Inc. received another ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) per event.”

Del Rio also alleges that the company would not return control of his social media accounts even after his contract expired. Combate Global is requesting that the case be thrown out because the suit failed to state a claim.

Patron alleges breach of contract, conversion (relating to the social media accounts), and unjust enrichment. The motion was Combate’s first response to Del Rio’s suit. Del Rio has also defended himself in regards to the assault allegations. He recently boasted of possible return to WWE.
