Real Reason Netflix Doesn’t Have WWE RAW’s Full Library Yet

WWE fans have been asking the same question ever since RAW landed on Netflix: Where are all the old episodes?

Although WWE’s landmark deal with Netflix began in January 2025, the streaming service still doesn’t have the complete Monday Night RAW archive available. During a recent Q&A, WrestleVotes was asked why so much of the library is still missing, and the answer appears to be surprisingly simple. According to JoeyVotes, the rollout is being done gradually because WWE’s agreement with Netflix stretches over several years.

JoeyVotes: “The reason I heard is this Monday Night Raw contract goes for years, so they will continue to add episodes at their pace and leisure. That’s just what it is, as far as I know.”

TC believes there’s another reason behind the slow rollout. In his view, WWE has little reason to dump decades of RAW episodes onto Netflix all at once. Instead, he thinks the company is strategically holding content back to maximize the value of its massive tape library over time.

“I think they’re gonna leverage it to try to get more money from Netflix. So it’s like, ‘Hey, we know you guys want it, and if you want to continue to pay the subscription every month, we’re gonna give a little bit here and there.'”

That’s not all as TC argued that the strategy ultimately comes down to protecting one of WWE’s most valuable assets.

“So it all comes down to money, and WWE does a good job of protecting their library and IP to get the most amount of money from the consumer—or business partners, in this case, Netflix—as they can. That’s what their strategy is: extract money as best they can.”

For now, WWE and Netflix haven’t publicly explained exactly how often older RAW episodes will be added, but if this’ information is accurate, fans shouldn’t expect the entire archive to appear overnight. Instead, it sounds like the library will continue to grow little by little over the life of the deal.

Do you think WWE should upload the entire RAW archive to Netflix now, or does it make sense to release it gradually? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
