AEW star Adam Cole recently appeared on “The AEW Unrestricted Podcast” for a frank conversation with hosts Aubrey Edwards and Tony Schiavone. Most notably, Cole talked about his migration from WWE to AEW.

Prior to AEW, the wrestler had spent four years with NXT, which he described as “wonderful.” Cole also had high praise for Triple H and Shawn Michaels, as well as the environment in the WWE locker room.

I had a wonderful four years with NXT. I really, really did. My relationship with Triple H was great. My relationship with Shawn Michaels was great. I loved the locker room there.

Therefore, it is not surprising that the decision to leave WWE for AEW was a tough one for Cole. Mr. Bay Bay made his AEW debut at “All Out,” and apparently only made up his mind a few days before the pay-per-view.

While Cole brought up his conversation with Tony Khan prior to joining AEW, it seems that the primary cause for his excitement was the tremendous growth that AEW has seen recently.

AEW is steamrolling the pro wrestling industry right now. And man, I am frickin so happy to be a part of that.

Adam Cole has the AEW fan base behind him in a huge way. His pops are amazing and rival CM Punk’s at times. Obviously, this is just the beginning for him in Tony Khan’s company, and they probably won’t turn him into a manager.
