Chris Jericho has enjoyed a career resurgence since joining All Elite Wrestling. He was the first AEW Champion. His feud with MJF was one of the hottest of the summer.

During the “Five Labours of Jericho” storyline, MJF made Jericho run a gauntlet of opponents before he was able to finally get his hands on Maxwell himself. Jericho even had death match with the notorious Nick Gage during the arc.

Jericho recently spoke with Alex McCarthy on Inside the Ropes and revealed some of the other names that were discussed. Names from Jericho’s Inner Circle faction were thrown around. Among them were Sammy Guevara and Jake Hager. Jericho didn’t think that was feasible.

“So once we did Gage, well who else? We had some ideas of it being Chris Hero, one of the ideas was maybe one of the Inner Circle like Sammy or Jake. I thought, ‘That’s so lame’. There’s no way… we had never turned on each other ever, and suddenly MJF is gonna manipulate us to turn on each other for what? Like there’s no way that would happen. I just didn’t feel that at all.”
