NXT 2.0 debuted last month and brought about significant number of changes to the product, with fans having mixed feelings regarding the overall presentation and feel of NXT.

NXT 2.0 came about after undergoing a significant number of changes from the previous version of NXT, especially regarding the kinds of talent the company hires now.

Matt Lee and Jeff Parker, who were formerly known as Ever-Rise in NXT, were released by the company earlier this year. Now they are known as 2Point0 in AEW and have been featured frequently on AEW television.

While speaking on AEW Unrestricted, 2Point0 talked about their time in NXT and went on to criticize NXT for dumping pro wrestlers into a system and adding that there is no real plan for talents in NXT.

“Once you get there, you realize, oh, you’re just dumped into a system. There is no plan. You’ve got to figure out how to show the powers that be, the people in charge, what you bring to the table. It’s a challenge. It’s a real challenge. Because unless you’re a chosen one that’s being hired with the intention of being a this or that, you’re just in the deep water, and you got to figure out how to the surface somehow.

Everyone’s just kind of climbing up but, at the same time, someone else is pulling you down a little bit. Not intentionally but it’s just the way it goes. So we had to figure out on our own, hey, how do we make some noise? That’s why we started a YouTube show.”

NXT 2.0 is focusing on an entirely different direction with talents. We will have to wait and see if the system has also changed or not as the company will certainly need to produce new stars.
