Hit Row was called up to SmackDown as part of the 2021 WWE Draft. This made Swerve Scott’s position as NXT North American Champion very interesting. He had a match to defend that title, and it was a grueling one tonight, and he actually retained. Little did he expect a second match was on its way.

Swerve Scott was able retain the NXT North American Title against Santos Escobar. Just when it appeared that Scott was going to take the NXT North American Title to SmackDown with him, Carmelo Hayes jumped into action.

Hayes, who won the NXT Breakout Tournament, cashed in his guaranteed contract and he won the title. It took a bit more work than Hayes would have liked, but a nice splash from the top helped him pull off the victory.

Now Scott is headed to SmackDown with Hit Row, but he won’t do it as a champion. Carmelo Hayes called his shot, and he did not miss.
