Ever since Matt Riddle signed with WWE, he has been one of the mainstays of WWE television, be it in NXT or the main roster. His in-ring skills are one of the best in the company and he already has good fan following. Despite that, he isn’t the easiest person to understand.

Matt Riddle’s character has certainly gotten over with fans thanks to his comedic timing and generally cool attitude while still being that of stoner character. It seems that coolness is a natural part of him.

Matt Riddle made some comments about Roman Reigns last month which ultimately made him get heat with those in WWE because of the nature of the comments.

While speaking to The International Business Times, Matt Riddle addressed his comments about Roman Reigns and admitted that he did get some heat on him for what he said.

“I’ll comment on that briefly. I’m not trying to rub anybody the wrong way or say anything [wrong], but I made some comments [and] I’ll say this: I think they were all factual, just so you know. Kind of like I said, [I am] kind of telling the truth here. But I think, maybe, even if they were factual, they weren’t the most professional things to say, especially with me being on the Raw brand and him being on SmackDown.

I’m not even in that realm of competing with the Tribal Chief. He’s on another level at this moment. I think maybe I got a little too big for my britches, you know what I mean? Maybe I got a little backstage heat. Maybe a tiny bit.”

Matt Riddle is currently 1/2 of the RAW Tag Team Champions with Randy Orton and is perfectly happy in his role right now. He also now knows better than to ruffle feathers with remarks about Roman Reigns.
