Vince Russo is a very controversial figure in pro wrestling who was part of the Monday Night Wars and later left WWE for WCW. He still maintains a podcast and is vocal about the pro wrestling business, all the while proclaiming that he’s not looking for a job. We have discovered new information which contradicts that narrative.

Ringside News has learned that Vince Russo called “both FOX and USA Networks in the past year” in an attempt to get a consultant job. He also pitched that the networks “discuss with Vince McMahon the possibility of bringing him back.”

Vince Russo announced today that he took part in WWE project for Peacock. We asked about this and were told that he worked on a documentary. Jim Ross and Ric Flair are also on those documentaries, but that doesn’t mean WWE is bringing them back either. We were also told that “the documentaries are not recognizing promotional boundaries.”

Russo stated in the past that he is not “looking for a job with WWE.” A tenured member of the creative team also commented on this, calling it “BS, he campaigned with both FOX and USA to bring him on, or help him get back in with Vince McMahon.”

Obviously, Vince Russo has not inked a new deal with FOX, USA Network, or WWE, so that mission to make a return to Vince McMahon’s company was not successful.

WWE tried a lot of things in recent memory to revamp the product and breath new life into their shows. They have not considered bringing back Vince Russo yet, but that didn’t stop him from trying.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
