WWE is in a super cost-cutting mode and that called for lot of changes backstage. We exclusively reported that backstage production is down to one camera crew and how much trouble that is causing. It turns out catering took a hit as well.

Ringside News has learned that WWE “cut the catering crew.” This was considered a “budget cut that no one can believe.” The spread is considered “terrible” by many.

We are told that the arena supplies catering for Superstars and staff during WWE events. “The selection is a little more” than pizza, hot dogs, and nachos, but “in a business that requires athletes to train and eat properly, pizza, nachos, hot dogs and arena food are not a smart budget item.”

DEGA Catering worked with WWE for a very long time, but they were part of the cuts. A tenured member of the backstage crew also told us that new catering is coming in November, but it will be “cheaper.”

Jerry Lawler once revealed that WWE spent $20k on catering for each show. This was obviously a budget item that WWE President Nick Khan nixed.

We also exclusively reported that Vince McMahon wasn’t at SmackDown at all this week. He likely didn’t miss the catering spread.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
