WWE SmackDown Viewership Falls With Build Toward Extreme Rules

WWE presented another episode of SmackDown this week, and they had a lot to get underway as the company plans for Extreme Rules. Vince McMahon wasn’t backstage this week, but there was plenty of arena food in catering. How did the viewership turn out?

SpoilerTV reports that WWE Friday Night SmackDown drew an overnight average of 2.147 million viewers. They also drew a .60 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic, down from the previous week.

The August 27th edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown drew an overnight average of 2.874 million viewers and a .7 in the 18 to 49 demographic. They scored 2.993 million in the first hour and 2.815 million in the second. That is quite a jump from last week, almost hitting the 3 million mark, but the number was inflated due to the NFL pre-empting several markets.

Friday Night SmackDown drew an overnight average of 2.237 million viewers on August 20th. They also drew a .55 in the coveted 18 to 49 demographic.

The August 13th episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown brought an overnight average of 2.4985 million viewers. They also garnered a .6 in the coveted 18 to 49 demographic. Due to getting pre-empted by the NFL preseason, they only pulled in 2.08 million viewers in the final numbers.

The August 6th episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown recorded an overnight viewership of 2.043 million viewers. They also drew a .55 in the 18 to 49 demographic. That was a bit of an increase from the previous week.

On July 30th, WWE Friday Night SmackDown brought an overnight viewership of 1.909 million viewers last week. They also garnered a .5 in the 18 to 49 demographic.

The show brought in 2.04 million viewers on July 23rd. They also garnered a .50 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. They also had the Olympic Games’ opening ceremony as competition that week which garnered 10.44 million viewers.
