WWE’s Intention For Squashing Bianca Belair At SummerSlam

Becky Lynch was absent from WWE television for well over a year but that was rectified as Lynch made her shocking return to WWE at SummerSlam. As Ringside News exclusively reported, The Man’s return was also a last-minute change of plans. It seems WWE had a peculiar reason for Bianca Belair getting squashed.

Lynch was immediately put into the Smackdown Women’s Championship match against Bianca Belair and won in just 26 seconds with a Manhandle Slam. Fans were understandably quite upset over Lynch squashing Belair.

Bianca Belair felt defeated after her shocking loss to Becky Lynch but also made it clear she is coming back to reclaim the Smackdown Women’s Championship. It was also 100% Vince McMahon call.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the reason for Belair getting squashed was so that fans could feel sympathy towards her.

People took it as a burial of Belair, but the idea was by beating her fast you were supposed to get sympathy on her with the idea that she didn’t deserve that.

It was also said that the squash has an altogether different philosophy compared to when Brock Lesnar beat Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship. The idea was to get Lesnar over and not getting fans behind Kofi Kingston.

Becky Lynch is also going to be heel during her feud with Bianca Belair. We will have to wait and see how the feud between the two will be booked in the coming months.
