WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has the final say in everything that goes on in the company, right down to the smallest of details. He is also behind the recent mass releases in NXT, actions Triple H has no say in whatsoever. McMahon also has his own vision for NXT and it will result in significant changes for the brand.

Recently, WWE president Nick Khan made some controversial comments when it came to how they will train WWE NXT Superstars as the brand will be undergoing huge revamp in the next couple of weeks. AEW President Tony Khan would fire back regarding how WWE trains its NXT Superstars.

For a long time, WWE continued to hire several talents from the independent circuit and bolstered NXT’s roster. However, now it seems that will no longer be the case.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the company no longer wants to scout for independent talents and that AEW can have all the independent talent it wants for itself.

Several in the company have told us that the word from the top is no more independent talent as far as scouting and such (keep in mind no “no more” doctrine in wrestling really means that and guarantee this will change in time) and that AEW can have all the independent talent to itself.

It was said that the company has reverted back to the old mindset of focusing on looks more so than how over a particular talent is elsewhere. The company plans on bringing more athletes and conduct more tryouts similar to what they did in Las Vegas from now on.

WWE’s shift in mentality when it comes to acquiring talents might have several drawbacks if history is taken into account. Regardless, it remains to be seen how different NXT will become in the coming weeks.
