Fans of the Attitude Era are well aware of The Brood, as it was comprised of Edge, Christian and Gangrel. All of them have gone their separate ways, with Gangrel going different route for the most part.

At WWE SummerSlam, Edge brought back his Brood entrance, complete with the iconic entrance music and sunglasses along with the flames around the ramp. It then transitioned into his current theme song.

Gangrel previously revealed that he absolutely loved Edge’s entrance at the pay-per-view. Now it seems there is more to the story than initially thought.

While speaking on his Fangin N Bangin podcast, Gangrel talked about Edge’s WWE SummerSlam entrance and claimed that he was supposed to appear on AEW Dynamite and perform his iconic Brood entrance.

“I was supposed to be on a plane to Milwaukee. [Monday], I get a return phone call saying, ‘Oh man, we’re so sorry, we’re going in a different direction because WWE media stuff.’ That entrance, everything Edge did was fucking great. The reason I wasn’t so excited about it is because I knew, I was offered another great opportunity and the timing sucked. AEW contacted me and they wanted me to come in and do Dynamite. They were putting the entrance together, they were going to do the fire, they were putting the music together and getting it all together.

The same time I was trending and really happy for Edge on the inside, I was super worried like, ‘Please don’t let this ruin things.’ I called people and they were like, ‘I wouldn’t worry about it.’ When SummerSlam hit, I knew it was the final nail in the coffin. It was cool because I never knew what the Gangrel-Brood entrance would look like in 2021. It was tremendously done. When I got the phone call that they were going to go in a different direction, it’s not their fault, it’s just timing. I think it was Tony’s idea to bring me in,”

Gangrel is no stranger to AEW as he made an appearance during AEW Full Gear last year, with Tony Khan stating that he’d love to have Gangrel back. At this point in time, it is not known whether Gangrel will return to AEW, but should it happen, fans would definitely be delighted to see him on AEW television.
