Paul Wight shocked the pro wrestling world when he officially announced that he will be working in AEW few months ago. He’s getting physical on AEW television now and is even scheduled to make his in-ring debut soon at All Out against QT Marshall. It seems Wight also has a very interesting opponent in mind in AEW.

Since his arrival in AEW, Wight has been working as part of the AEW commentary team and is certainly having a great time there. There are a variety of dream matches that fans want to see in AEW and it also includes someone Wight is very familiar with.

While speaking on ESPN’s SportsNation, Paul Wight talked about fellow WCW star Sting and made it clear that he really wants to face off against The Icon inside the squared circle somewhere down the line.

“[Sting’s] still got it. Sting number one is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet in professional wrestling. Just to know his athleticism and for me, when I started my career in 95’ for WCW, he was the franchise for World Championship Wrestling and had multiple championships then and was a huge fan favorite. And then how he’s adapted his career and still at 62 years old and competes like he does, just shows his commitment to taking care of himself and living the good life.

“I love to see Sting out there, he’s a great person, a great influence for the talent in the locker room and I look forward, hopefully someday, to working with him again. That would be ideal to get a chance to work with him again.”

Paul Wight previously revealed that he wants a brand new look with AEW ring gear and it is certain fans will get to see that at AEW All Out, where he will face off against QT Marshall in his in-ring debut.

After that, we will have to wait and see if Paul Wight will compete against Sting, as Sting has already proven he is more than capable of performing well in a match.
