WWE is holding their next NXT TakeOver event on August 22nd, and the brand is going though some big changes. That led to reports that Vince McMahon is looking to axe any short wrestlers over thirty. A lot of people, including The Young Bucks, have commented on this development. Some NXT higher-ups are also pretty frustrated by those changes. The situation apparently led to an a stressful day as the black and gold brand prepares for another show on the USA Network.

Those changes to NXT were noticed outside of the company’s walls. The USA Network was also reportedly a bit disappointed by the news. A dozen wrestlers and a referee lost their jobs on Friday, and more cuts are expected.

According to Wrestle Votes, the mood at the Performance Center isn’t the most positive today. The account posted a report that indicated tensions are running very high around WWE’s developmental brand today.

The mood at the PC today ahead of tonight’s NXT show…. hooooooo boy. Tensions running high to say the least.

Vince McMahon wants NXT to make a return to the days prior to scooping up every talented name on the indie wrestling circuit. He desires big men under thirty who can main event a WrestleMania someday. We’ll have to see how many of those top prospects in NXT develop into huge Superstars, but he has apparently made a decision about what kind of wrestler he is looking for.

Tonight’s episode of NXT could be a very interesting occasion. Those mass cuts were felt throughout the roster and now the black and gold brand is forced to carry on with Vince McMahon’s new vision.
