Adam Cole is in a very good situation right now, because his contract with WWE reportedly already expired. He agreed to an extension to work through SummerSlam, but Cole’s next move is his to make. There is a belief in WWE that Adam Cole’s WWE release was the cause for the company axing a longtime employee.

Canyon Ceman was released from his talent relations position and the timing of that departure is very interesting. Bryan Alvarez commented on the situation during Wrestling Observer Live to provide some insight.

“It is strongly believed, that this is where it stems from, I’m pretty sure that the reason he was released was this Adam Cole contract situation here.”

The former NXT Champion has the power to negotiate a fine deal for himself wherever he goes. His contract reportedly expired at the end of July, but he’s sticking around until, at least, NXT TakeOver: 36.
