AEW has a lot of things going on during their big matches, and run-ins are very common. They have tried to stay away from putting damage on the referees, but that changed this week. Jimmy Korderas said they didn’t even get ref bumps right.

During a recent Reffin Rant, Jimmy Korderas railed on AEW referees once again. He mentioned that Tony Khan said on Busted Open Radio that AEW doesn’t do referee bumps. After seeing how they executed the referee bump at Road Rager, Korderas commented to say that he understands why AEW doesn’t ever do those spots.

“In that street fight, it’s crazy, you’ve got everything going. You hit Rick Knox with a 450 splash and he’s selling, not selling, trying to roll out of the way, trying to stay out of the way of what was going on, but he’s moving constantly. After a 450?! No! Hit it, he rolls out, he’s out of the way. Then you have Paul Turner come out to do the false finish and you yank him out of the ring, and he’s gone for the rest of the night and Rick Knox comes back to count the finish. You guys can’t even get the ref bumps right. Now I know why you don’t do them.”

Jim Ross has also spoken out in the past about how AEW abuses their referees at times. It seems that they don’t have much authority, but there are things they could do to fix things.

We’ll have to see if AEW fixes some of these glaring issues in match psychology. Perhaps, they should give Jimmy Korderas a call, because he seems more than happy to share his wealth of information with AEW to help them improve the product.

What’s your take on AEW referees? Do they lose control too often? Sound off in the comments!
