WWE only has so many hours of NXT programming every week. Kona Reeves is still around the Performance Center, but he hasn’t been seen on television for a long time.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Reeves is still at the performance center, but he’s been out of action for 15 months following surgery. He’s still working out now and getting ready to go. He is also trying to freshen up his character.

Reeves was given a bit of a push in 2018, but then the black and gold brand backed off of the idea a bit. Now it seems that he is working to make a return in a much different way.

It is reported that he is making “creative pitches for a significant character change.” This could see the big Hawaiian in a much different situation when we see him again. None of those creative ideas were revealed in the report.

It was stated that guest coaches have all commented about how great it is to work with Kona Reeves. He is still around and waiting to do his thing once again, but it might take some time to figure out the creative.

What’s your take on Kona Reeves? Is he ever getting a main roster call-up? Sound off in the comments!
